WIIFM?

People always want to know “What’s in it for me?” so I want to tell you what you should expect from visitng my blog:

Recipes – I’m not a professional, but I…LOVE…FOOD. I love to shop for it, I love to cook it, I love to eat it, I love to talk about it…there’s no getting around it…I…LOVE…FOOD. I really believe that my love for food and passion for cooking come through as I experiment and put together recipes and I plan to post my creations and recommendations for great recipes that I’ve tried on this blog. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to post exact measurements for ingredients, but I will try my best. Please keep in mind that I always use fresh ingredients and I buy almost all of my groceries locally through farms, butchers, co-ops, etc. I live in the stix so if I can find local businesses where I live, so can you!

Suggested Weekly Menus & Grocery Lists – I always hear that people don’t have TIME to cook…I find that when you take a little time to plan out a menu for the week and do all of your grocery shopping for the week in ONE trip, it is much easier to find the time to prepare meals during the week. On this blog, you will be able to find suggested weekly menus (each day will include Breakfast, Snack 1, Lunch, Snack 2 and Dinner) to help you in your planning, as well as corresponding grocery lists to accompany you on your ONE shopping trip.

Yoga Prorgrams & Information – I recently completed a 9-month Yoga Teacher Training certification. It has been an amazing journey for me and I hope to share bits and pieces of what I have learned and what I continue to discover through Yoga practice. From time to time, I may also post class plans or personal practices that I have put together so that you may use them in your own practice if you’re interested.

Exercise Ideas – I love to learn new ways to workout and I’ll never go through the same workout twice. As I learn new exercises and try out new ideas, I will be sure to share them with you through this blog. I would love for you to post your ideas as well.

Misc. Health Tips – I feel that too often we make excuses for why we can’t make healthy lifestyle choices. In this blog, you will find tips and tricks for little things you can do to make a big difference in your health. For example, I travel a lot for work thus one of my posts is about how to stay healthy on the road.

Childhood Obesity Information – I am truly thankful that I can say “I love my job!” and mean it. I work for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which was founded as a joint venture of the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation to fight the childhood obesity epidemic and to empower youth to make healthy lifestyle choices. You will find helpful information on how you can get involved in fighting the battle against childhood obesity, as well as tips on how to prevent childhood obesity in your families and communities.

Stuff & Things – OK, you may occassionally find a random post about the goings on up here in New Hampshire or other things that I enjoy. You may also see a pic or two of my pooch Allie…she’s a 14-year-old chocolate lab btw…just sayin. Bare with me if you’re not interested…I’ll try my best to stay focused on the task at hand.
